If I Force Stop an App How Do I Get It Working Again

It's annoying that there are apps almost every week that need to be updated. For example stuff like Amazon and the worst is the NFL app. Anyway I wanted to uninstall some of these apps through application manager but it seems that apps that came with the phone can't be uninstalled. There is no uninstall option. The only time there is a uninstall option is when it's a app I installed myself. So the only option I have for apps that came with the phone are as follows, Force stop, uninstall updates and Disable. There is a option show notifications it's currently tick yes. What I want to know should I choose the option Disable only and that will stop the prompting of pending updates available and to stop checking for updates. Is this what I should do ?

When I select the option force stop it gives me a warning saying: the app may misbehave.

When I select the Disable force stop it gives me a warning saying: If you disable a built in app, other apps may misbehave & your data will also be deleted.

Should I just untick the show notifications box ?

Will I extend battery life by disabling these apps ?

I have a LG G2 by the way and is it just LG that does not allow customers to uninstall apps or does moto x,sony, samsung and others do the same ?

Last question: A verizon app called Verizon Support & Protections keeps asking me if I want it to protect my phone, from virus/malware and whatnot, do I really need that crap on my phone ?

Yes, if you are not rooted, disabling apps is the next best thing... Those warnings are created for all apps so don't worry about them... Just make sure you never disable any important system apps ...

Your battery life depends on the app.. Maybe disabling an app might get you better battery life but its not always noticeable.

Welcome to the forums by the way!

  3. If your not using the pre-installed apps that aren't system apps, disabling them is a good idea if your not a root user to completely uninstall them.

It's not necessarily the manufacturer, it's more the carrier that has all the bloat installed.

  4. I'd suggest that you keep track of which apps you disable. If you run into weird issues (particularly sync or notification related) it's easy enough to re-enable those apps to see if they were actually needed.

One word: this is not LG that adds this bloatware, it is your carrier. I have LG G2 and I do not have any of the applications you mentioned.
Anyway, you can safely disable most of these applications without any problems, this may affect (positively) your battery life, depending on the app.
And you will have the list of disabled applications on the bottom of the App screen, in case you want to enable one of them again.
  6. But will Play store still prompt to update disabled apps? I think that's the main question.
    Tbh I don't know ☺
  7. Nope, it won't. Once it's disabled Play ignores it.

After reading this thread I just went through the Apps on my L39c and stopped and uninstalled the google xyz apps (books, movies, etc) and it said it did. I checked the apps screen and sure enough they were gone... until I rebooted the phone... right back where they were.
  9. You need to go into the settings and uncheck the box that say updates and you want to disable if your not rooted if your rooted try a apk removal such as anttek to remove or freeze the apks
  10. Also clear the all the apk data and cache before you try to disable if you Dont its just like a car u mix clean oil with bad used oil why did you call it a oil change . it will only start the all back up . I think you got Verizon you said NFL apk

Thanks, but I don't see that setting. I'll just live with 'em, not a biggie
  12. The settings is located in the playstore . go inside the apk and hit the menu button to pop up the menu such as update apk

    I can't get a screen shot to show u
